Fitness Journal – Start yours now!!

The world of Bullet Journals can be very exciting but confusing and overwhelming for those of us who aren’t as creative as some!!

Bullet journals are something that have fascinated me since discovering the idea on Pinterest. The world of doodles and tracking everything, keeping lists and planning appeals to my OCD side but the over complicated set ups the never ending question of what to but in it really put me off until I found Fitness Mag SA’s article on Fitness Journaling

I went for a really easy set up and decided to track only the things that are important to me:

1. Sleep

My sleeping patterns have been thrown out of whack so getting back into a good routine is step 1

2. Moods

Moods affect performance. If I’m having a bad day I don’t want it to get despondent when I have a bad workout and then suffer from the snowball effect and completely fall off the wagon – again!!

3. Workouts

Well it’s a fitness journal so obviously…….

4. Food and Supps

Again, it’s a fitness journal and what’s exercise without a proper eating plan!!

5. Ratings

I rate how my workout went, average heart rate and what percentage of my planned workout did I complete. I also rate my eating for the day – Good, Bad or Ugly.

6. Weekly Reviews

Lastly I have a double page where I track day by day who the week went. How many km’s did I run at what pace, how heavy did I go on squats and weekly round up of how my eating went.

Nowhere am I tracking my weight or body fat percentage. Mostly because my goals are performance based so the scale or tape measure have no impact and I don’t want to get distracted by numbers not inline with my goals.

Example of an easy layout:

Keep it simple and easy to use and you’ll definitely achieve any goal you set yourself!!!
