Why I stopped training and how I plan to get back on that wagon.

So nearly 3 months ago my Dad fell off a ladder and fractured his skull pretty seriously. Needless to say the first few weeks after that was pure stress and confusion and many questions were asked, none of which were – did I workout today? Have I been conscious of what I’ve eaten?

The last 3 months have been about getting through the day, eating anything and maybe getting some sleep.

Now that my Dad is well on his way to recovery I’ve had time to look at myself in the mirror and my life as a whole and I didn’t like what I saw!!

My skin had taken a knock, my jeans were too tight and I just felt, for lack of better words – I felt like shit!

What has inspired me to get back on that wagon??

Well for starters my Dad will be doing lots of exercises as part of his rehab and he’ll need the encouragement of someone doing them with him. I’d look pretty dumb if I couldn’t keep up with him!!

And 2 – a short feature on how to set up a fitness journal and an empty note book I had seemed like a sign!

No time like the present right?! My journal started that day and I’m happy to report it has really helped me stay focused so far.

Keep your eyes open for my next post on how I do my fitness journal and how you can easily get yours going as well……
