Get fit in the gym, lose weight in the kitchen

Essentially yes….. Technically it’s both. It all depends on your starting point.

The human body is lazy!!! And adapts well to changing environments so for example, those people you see in the gym week in and week out, on the treadmill sweating balls at 5.30am but from month to month they look exactly the same are actually in exactly the same point of their weight loss journey as the person in the office who only drinks ice water and eats salads all day but is the same shape as the day you started there.

Our bodies reach an equilibrium and then weight loss and fitness will slow until we put our bodies under more pressure and “take it to the next level”

Essentially weightloss is all about calories in vs calories out. That deficit between what we take in and how much we use is where weightloss will happen.

In terms of fitness of we only ever do 20 push ups that’s all the body will be able to do. However if we do 20 push ups this week, then 25 push ups the next week and then 30 push ups the following week you will eventually get to a point where you would be able to do 50 or even 100 push ups.

At the end of the day it’s all about that “next level”…. Whether it’s calories in vs calories out or adding those extra 5 reps to this week’s workout weight loss and fitness is all about pushing yourself that little bit further than last time!!
