The importance of hydration

Water…. Important we know. But why?!?

We’ve all heard the saying “Humans are 70% water, we are basically just cucumbers with anxiety”

Well they not completely wrong!!

Water is also an important component in the digestion of carbs. Carbs give us energy. If we aren’t digesting carbs properly we hit energy slumps and thats when we crave junk food – because “junk food” is often more refined they are easier for the body to digest, less water is required.

When we are dehydrated is affects our looks as well. Our skin “sticks” to the muscles making our faces look drawn and haggard. Not the best look when you walk into the office first thing in the morning!!!

The list of benefits of keeping your water uptake consistent also includes more regular and comfortable bowel movements, reduced headaches and more efficient kidney and liver function.

Many people say they don’t like the taste of water, well there are tons of recipe suggestions on what fresh fruit can be added to water to make it “taste” better. For me personally ice cold water is best!!

However you take it…. Drink up!!
